"To Animas With Love" is a history written by Carol Dunagan Smith who grew up in this unique little valley in the southwest corner of New Mexico. Inspired by her mother, Lenora Dunagan, who began this fine work, the book includes the memories and writing of many other old-timers.

UPDATED VERSION; A 330 page casebound book, it now contains over 300 pictures, documents, letters, post cards and poems, including some history on the Mormon church in Animas and new families are included.

The books appeal lies in the stories of early families and their background and day to day life--the one room schools--the homesteads.

It is nostaglic, whimsical and sad, bringing out the tough fibre and fine character of the early pioneers in the territory of New Mexico, from the Indian war through World War II.

"A tribute to my Mother who remembered it, my Dad who lived it, and anyone who ever called Animas home" is indeed a labor of love and a treasure for any person who'd like to take a little trip back to the Good Ole Days.
